PT Freeport Indonesia (Manyar Smelter)

PT Freeport Indonesia atau biasa disingkat sebagai PTFI merupakan perusahaan tambang mineral afiliasi dari Freeport-McMoRan (FCX) dan Mining Industry Indonesia (MIND ID). Sejak akhir tahun 2018, PTFI merupakan bagian dari Mining Industry Indonesia (MIND ID) melalui PT Inalum (Persero) setelah diakuisisi sahamnya sebesar 51%, sehingga dinyatakan pula sebagai bagian dari BUMN. MIND ID sendiri merupakan Holding Industri Pertambangan Indonesia, dengan PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Persero) (Inalum), PT ANTAM Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Timah Tbk, dan PT Freeport Indonesia sebagai anggota holding.

PTFI menambang dan memproses bijih menghasilkan konsentrat yang mengandung tembaga, emas dan perak. PTFI memasarkan konsentrat ke seluruh penjuru dunia dan terutama ke smelter tembaga dalam negeri, PT Smelting.

Di Kabupaten Gresik, PTFI telah membangun fasilitas smelter baru yang terletak di Kecamatan Manyar. Smelter ini berdiri di atas lahan seluas 100 hektare (Ha) yang terletak di Kawasan JIIPE, yang dikelola oleh PT AKR Corporindo Tbk (AKRA).

Smelter PTFI (Manyar Smelter) dirancang untuk memiliki kapasitas pengolahan konsentrat tembaga sebesar 2 juta ton per tahun, yang menjadikan smelter ini sebagai tempat pengolahan tembaga terbesar di dunia. Hasil pengolahan Manyar Smelter akan ditambahkan dengan kapasitas pengolahan smelter yang telah beroperasi, PT Smelting, dengan kapasitas pengolahan 1 juta ton konsentrat tembaga setiap tahun. Dengan demikian, beroperasinya Manyar Smelter akan mampu mengolah 3 juta ton konsentrat tembaga per tahun.

1. Smelter Operation Readiness – PMR Technical Superintendent

The Purpose of this position:

Superintendent Operasi PMR bertanggung jawab memimpin tim pelaksana operasional dalam mencapai target produksi harian secara aman di fasilitas pengolahan kimia logam mulia. Peran ini mencakup pencapaian target throughput, tingkat pemulihan logam, dan spesifikasi kualitas produk sesuai standar keselamatan kerja. Superintendent akan bekerja sama secara erat dengan departemen lain seperti Technical Services, Maintenance, Logistics, dan lainnya untuk memastikan seluruh proses harian berjalan optimal dan setiap permasalahan ditangani dengan tepat.

The background, education, and work experience needed to succeed in this job are:

• Gelar Sarjana di bidang Teknik Metalurgi, Teknik Kimia, atau bidang terkait, serta memiliki pengalaman lebih dari 8 tahun dalam kepemimpinan operasional di pabrik pengolahan kimia atau metalurgi.
• Memiliki sertifikasi Pengawas Operasional Madya (POM).
• Berpengalaman dalam inisiatif kesiapan operasional (operational readiness), termasuk dalam pengembangan dan implementasi prosedur operasi, kebijakan operasional, sistem kerja, serta program pelatihan.
• Berpengalaman bekerja dalam sistem operasi yang mengikuti standar perencanaan terintegrasi, seperti perencanaan dan penjadwalan operasi/pemeliharaan secara rutin.

• Pemahaman tentang praktik aman dalam penanganan bahan kimia berbahaya, proses, dan reaksi kimia.

2. Smelter Operation Readiness – Control Room Operator PMR

The Purpose of this position:

The Control Room Operator is responsible for performing their duties in controlling Precious Metal Refinery area. Processing equipment through the control system (generally referred as DCS) in achieving predetermined production targets in a safe manner (safe production). The Control Room Operator turns on, turns off, monitors the performance, and sets the parameters of the processing equipment circuit through the system.

The background, education, and work experience needed to succeed in this job are:

• High school diploma or equivalent with experience working as a Control Room Operator in the mineral, metal, or chemical processing industry for more than 3 years (Junior) or 8 years (Senior).
• Experience in operating Computer, DCS via Siemens PCS7 system.
• Fair in English.
• Experience in the safe practices, especially in operating tools and a series of tools through the Control Room for this area:
  • Precious Metal Refinery: De-Copperization, Slime Handling, Wet Chlorination, Gold SX, PGM IX, Se/Te Reduction, HMP, De-Chlorination, Silver Leaching, Silver Precipitation, Silver Reduction, Lead Leaching, SSL.
  • In several designated area it is required to have experience working in hot and humid conditions, using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

3. Smelter Operation Readiness – PMR Master Operator

The purpose of this position :

Master Operator in PMR areas are responsible for coordinating all operators in their assigned area and directly contributing to the safe achievement of production activities on shift in the plant area, achieving production targets in accordance with specifications, both in quality and quantity. The Master Operator will focus on tactical shift operations, ensuring the safe execution of tasks and optimizing processes. His/her main role is also in tactical coordination with other sections within the plant (Mechanical Maintenance, Electrical Maintenance, Process Control, etc). The Master Operator must be ready to assume the role of Shift Supervisor from time to time. The PMR process will include several unit processes such as De-Copperization, Slime Handling, Wet Chlorination, Gold SX, PGM IX, Se/Te Reduction, HMP, De-Chlorination, Silver Leaching, Silver Precipitation, Silver Reduction, Lead Leaching, SSL.

The background, education, and work experience needed to succeed in this job are:

Education, certification, and experience

• Min. Diploma degree in engineering with more than 3 years of operational experience in chemical plants, metal smelters, or mineral processing plants.
• Experience working in dust and chemical exposure conditions, using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Experience working in leaching, filtering, precipitation, sementation, casting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Operational and/or technical experience and knowledge of safe and efficient operations for the following:

• PMR: Tank, Agitator, Reactor, Pumps, Thickener, Scrubber, Conveyor, Filter, Heat Exchanger, Stripper, Condensor, Auto Sampler, Resin Coloumn, Au/Ag Caster, etc.
• Experience working in operations following integrated (operations/maintenance planning and scheduling) and routine planning standards.
• Proven experience in managing field operations workers, by creating and maintaining the right work culture of safety, environmental discipline, and the pursuit of excellence.
• Possess skills to influence parties outside of direct supervision, and communication with superiors.
• Able to communicate in english (reading and writing)
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards, and safety precautions.
• Understanding of working with appropriate MS Office, SAP, and other business systems will be advantage.
• Skilled in following safety and hazard recognition practices.
