PT Freeport Indonesia atau biasa disingkat sebagai PTFI merupakan perusahaan tambang mineral afiliasi dari Freeport-McMoRan (FCX) dan Mining Industry Indonesia (MIND ID). Sejak akhir tahun 2018, PTFI merupakan bagian dari Mining Industry Indonesia (MIND ID) melalui PT Inalum (Persero) setelah diakuisisi sahamnya sebesar 51%, sehingga dinyatakan pula sebagai bagian dari BUMN. MIND ID sendiri merupakan Holding Industri Pertambangan Indonesia, dengan PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Persero) (Inalum), PT ANTAM Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Timah Tbk, dan PT Freeport Indonesia sebagai anggota holding.
PTFI menambang dan memproses bijih menghasilkan konsentrat yang mengandung tembaga, emas dan perak. PTFI memasarkan konsentrat ke seluruh penjuru dunia dan terutama ke smelter tembaga dalam negeri, PT Smelting.
Di Kabupaten Gresik, PTFI telah membangun fasilitas smelter baru yang terletak di Kecamatan Manyar. Smelter ini berdiri di atas lahan seluas 100 hektare (Ha) yang terletak di Kawasan JIIPE, yang dikelola oleh PT AKR Corporindo Tbk (AKRA).
Smelter PTFI (Manyar Smelter) dirancang untuk memiliki kapasitas pengolahan konsentrat tembaga sebesar 2 juta ton per tahun, yang menjadikan smelter ini sebagai tempat pengolahan tembaga terbesar di dunia. Hasil pengolahan Manyar Smelter akan ditambahkan dengan kapasitas pengolahan smelter yang telah beroperasi, PT Smelting, dengan kapasitas pengolahan 1 juta ton konsentrat tembaga setiap tahun. Dengan demikian, beroperasinya Manyar Smelter akan mampu mengolah 3 juta ton konsentrat tembaga per tahun.

Smelter Operation Readiness – Site Reliability Engineer
Reliability Engineers are key to minimizing equipment downtime, mitigate risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations, optimizing life cycle costs, and enhancing equipment availability to achieve increased production. The RE must be capable of analyzing conditions, performing technical troubleshooting, and identifying the root cause(s).
The role provides leadership and guidance for effective Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Team processes for continuous improvements designed for maintenance activities and operation of area equipment. Develop optimized operation & maintenance strategies for plant equipment based on Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and other reliability methodologies, facilitate root cause analysis, recommend design changes determined by RCM studies, prioritize and eliminate defects, develop critical spare parts lists and analyze data to determine economic benefits and to prioritize the effort. Reliability Engineers document and oversee mitigation and intervention of identified issues to ensure that the temporary/permanent resolution is planned, scheduled, and implemented. Develop dashboards and KPIs to measure plant performances.
Minimum Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
- Computer literacy in MS Office Suite is required.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Mining/ Metals Processing facility in engineering, or maintenance preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills are required.
- Must be able to lead a cross functional team and possess a drive for continuous improvement.
- Must be able to train and mentor others.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Must be certified by CMRP as a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or become certified within 18 months.
- Desirable certifications include vibration, thermography, lubrication, and oil analysis.
- Polished communication and administrative skills are a must.

- OEE Overall Equipment Effectiveness
- Reliability modeling and prediction
