PT Freeport Indonesia (Manyar Smelter)

PT Freeport Indonesia atau biasa disingkat sebagai PTFI merupakan perusahaan tambang mineral afiliasi dari Freeport-McMoRan (FCX) dan Mining Industry Indonesia (MIND ID). Sejak akhir tahun 2018, PTFI merupakan bagian dari Mining Industry Indonesia (MIND ID) melalui PT Inalum (Persero) setelah diakuisisi sahamnya sebesar 51%, sehingga dinyatakan pula sebagai bagian dari BUMN. MIND ID sendiri merupakan Holding Industri Pertambangan Indonesia, dengan PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Persero) (Inalum), PT ANTAM Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Timah Tbk, dan PT Freeport Indonesia sebagai anggota holding.

PTFI menambang dan memproses bijih menghasilkan konsentrat yang mengandung tembaga, emas dan perak. PTFI memasarkan konsentrat ke seluruh penjuru dunia dan terutama ke smelter tembaga dalam negeri, PT Smelting.

Di Kabupaten Gresik, PTFI telah membangun fasilitas smelter baru yang terletak di Kecamatan Manyar. Smelter ini berdiri di atas lahan seluas 100 hektare (Ha) yang terletak di Kawasan JIIPE, yang dikelola oleh PT AKR Corporindo Tbk (AKRA).

Smelter PTFI (Manyar Smelter) dirancang untuk memiliki kapasitas pengolahan konsentrat tembaga sebesar 2 juta ton per tahun, yang menjadikan smelter ini sebagai tempat pengolahan tembaga terbesar di dunia. Hasil pengolahan Manyar Smelter akan ditambahkan dengan kapasitas pengolahan smelter yang telah beroperasi, PT Smelting, dengan kapasitas pengolahan 1 juta ton konsentrat tembaga setiap tahun. Dengan demikian, beroperasinya Manyar Smelter akan mampu mengolah 3 juta ton konsentrat tembaga per tahun.

Smelter Operation Readiness – Process Control Engineer

The Purpose of this position:
Process Control Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining control logics, HMI (Human Machine Interface), and advanced process control programs to ensure the smelting and refining processes are operating safely, optimally, and continuously improving. The scope of the automation systems within this role is the regulatory, supervisory, advanced process control (APC), industrial applications, and the PI data management system. Automation is an integral part of the operations of the smelter and refinery as it is controlling various processes to ensure safe operations and optimization of operations. Leading up to commissioning and ramp-up of the plant, this position is a part of the Operational Readiness team to manage the readiness of the automation teams resources, systems, and talents

The background, education, and work experience needed to succeed in this job are :

• (Required) Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or related field relevant to Process Automation such as Metallurgy, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics Engineering
• Engineer, preferably in hot-metals and hydrometallurgical/chemical processing facilities, with demonstrated experience in Siemens PCS7 or other PLC/DCS platforms.
• Adept at project management
• Experienced in the design and implementation of safety systems that may include Fatal Risk/Critical Risk Management principles (>2 years preferable)
• Experience in operational readiness efforts leading up to commissioning and start up
• Experience in big data management is desired though not mandatory
• Experience in application of Agile principles
